More than just stainless steel, the Hayssen ISB has been designed to excel in packaging environments that demand sanitary operation.

From the sliding drip pan to the open channel frame to the minimized surface-to-surface contact points, the Hayssen ISB sets a new hygienic standard.

Built for...

Hygienic design and performance are at the core of the Hayssen ISB’s frame and operation. The entire machine is high-pressure washdown capable, including its human machine interface (HMI), which on other machines typically requires protection due its sensitive components. This VFFS has earned IP66 and NEMA 4X enclosure ratings.

The sanitary features of the Hayssen ISB go much further. The frame is an open-channel design with sloped surfaces and was built to have no more than one square-inch of surface-to-surface contact between its components. It uses standoffs and flanged fasteners to eliminate secondary hardware like washers. Its film rollers are fully removable without tools and come completely sealed with lifetime bearings. Even vacuum belts, a potential source for contamination and pathogen growth, were eliminated in favor of friction belts since the ISB utilizes the MFP measuring roller system for precise film measuring.

Sanitary features include:

  • Open design with open channel framing.
  • Uses standoffs and flanged fasteners eliminating secondary hardware like washers.
  • Better wire routing—No zip-tied wire bundles.
  • All surfaces are sloped.
  • High-pressure washdown capable (including the HMI).
  • IP66 & NEMA 4X enclosure ratings.
  • Sliding drip pan protects front of machine during scale clean-out.
  • Uses friction belts (no vaccuum pumps).
  • Entire film path is above all machine components, keeping it sanitary from the unwind all the way to introduction of product.

Special attention has also been paid to intuitive machine operation. Changeovers on the Hayssen ISB are tool-less, except for the sealing jaws. The Hayssen ISB uses our new TruFORM forming set mounted on a swing-out arm enabling operators avoid takeaway conveyors and hazards typically faced when changing out forming sets from the front of the machine.

The Hayssen ISB is fully accessible from either side via high-end polymer doors that won't crack, discolor, and are immune to chemical wash. Provides full through-machine visibility without the need for expensive laser-cut stainless steel doors.

The machine features pass-through film threading and its entire unwind and film path has been engineered to provide immediate film tracking adjustments. Film tension is managed and maintained automatically using a laser measuring system.

The Hayssen ISB’s HMI is underpinned by a slate of modern intelligent systems. The vertical bagger can be equipped with its own cellular network capabilities, making it capable of communicating with iPads and tablets for training opportunities without affecting production needs. The Hayssen ISB can self-diagnose potential issues in real time and automatically calculate program values to maximize performance.
